Look back into your relationship with your mom to identify something specific she told you. Maybe it was nagging you to do your homework every day after school which you hated then, but now you have all A’s in your college classes and are receiving scholarships because of it. Maybe it is words of encouragement to continue playing baseball because now you know how to work in a team environment. You never know when these lessons sink in, but when they do, they are important to note. Seek such a memory, and share the importance of that moment with her in a few words.

3. Just simply tell her how much you love her and appreciate her. It doesn’t have to be something specific! After all, your mother will love you pretty much no matter what you write to her! Mothers never tire of hearing how much their children love them.

4. Invite her to dinner in the note. You can either have the date and place picked out, or let her know it is her choice. She will love spending time with you and being treated special.

5. Ask her in the note to go for a walk with you. This will let her know you want to spend time with her and you want to help keep her healthy. When you go on the walk, pack a healthy picnic of turkey breast, crunchy veggies with a light dressing, and lightly salted apples slices.
